Making pottery is not a very complicated process, but it is long and very delicate. Anyone can start pottery, the main thing is creativity, hands from the right place and money, because professional production requires equipment such as a potter's wheel, a muffle furnace and so on.

1) Preparation of clay. Clay is your main material for making dishes (not counting decorations). You can go find the clay yourself and process it, or you can go to special stores and purchase almost ready-made clay at reasonable prices. Next, we prepare a clay solution clay + water (about 1/3) a little sand. The water prevents the clay particles from rubbing, and the sand prevents the clay from cracking when it dries. There is also a special 'dry clay' ready-made clay that does not require the addition of water or sand. But such clay is only suitable for molding products on special presses under high pressure.

2) Product molding. It can be molded with anything, even with your hands, but to make it beautiful, you need a special potter's wheel machine. With his help and the help of his hands, the potter shapes the future product. Perhaps this is one of the most crucial moments.

3) Primary drying. Clay dries under normal conditions. After that comes the application of the 'glaze' of the material to cover the product, as well as its decoration. Can also be applied after firing.

4) Firing in a kiln. It removes water from the product and sintering the particles together, which gives the dishes stability and makes them strong and reliable.

5) Application of glaze. Glaze is often applied after firing. In appearance, it looks like a thin film on products. They seem to be shining. This is the frosting. This is done mainly to cover the pores in the clay that have formed after the water has been removed. Although the particles move close to each other during sintering, micropores still remain. Glaze solves this problem.

Pottery is useful and versatile, exclusive and beautiful. Clay is real natural and polymeric. A person who makes pottery must be assiduous, ready to remake his product several times. To work with clay products, in addition to the clay itself, you will need a muffle furnace and a potter's wheel, which are sold in specialized stores.

Before you sit down at the potter's wheel, you need to master modeling. Further work on the potter's wheel, which significantly speeds up the process of making clay products and increases their production. Also, clay products are made using a punch. Soft clay is laid out in gypsum dishes, where it hardens and a finished product is obtained.
